I love the fall and it seems to be fading fast.  Storms and rain moving in where I live.  Yes, we may be on the edge of winter so a little more fall color seems appropriate.  The vineyards in Sonoma county are quite colorful this time of year.  The grapes are mostly gone, their juice already working its magic in large vats or barrels with a little yeast thrown in.  Sounds simple but it’s not.  So while the juice is doing its unseen thing, we get the incredible spoils; the beauty of the vines and leaves themselves in a setting sublime, mingling with natures color clock, changing its appearance from green to yellow to orange/red before falling off completely.  Now that’s art!

Have I mentioned before that I like a good storm?  Well, I do.  A couple of years ago we had a tsunami warning on the west coast so I  thought I’d drive the half hour out and check it out for myself.  The coastal beach rangers were trying to keep everyone off the beaches, just in case, but alas, it never showed up.  But the weather was just awesome enough to let the waves form.  And it was just windy enough to create some real power over the wave crests.  It was a gorgeous day!
