mendocino

It’s always fun to take the drive up to the quaint little town of Mendocino on the northern California coast.  One day I took the drive alone and just lazily explored the area, having a grand time with the elements, ocean and camera.

We were up in the little town of Mendocino on the northern California coast for a couple of days.  It was winter and when the rain stopped we hopped in the car and drove a couple of miles into town to do a little exploring.  The shops are fun and there’s a nice little walk right in town on the bluffs above the blue Pacific Ocean.  As we emerged out of one of the shops after some time in there, we were greeted by  these sunbeams trying to find their way out of the passing storm.  Luckily, I take my camera with me while shopping.

Hmmm.  I don’t really remember exactly where this is other than it’s the Pacific Ocean in Mendocino County on the California coast, somewhere just south of Point Arena.  I remember leaving home and just deciding to follow my nose up the coast to see what I could see.  I love the pacific coast and the power of the ocean.  It never ceases to amaze me.  I took my time here, sitting down on the deserted beach, watching the creek flow into the ocean and the waves pound into the shore, before heading north for more exploration.  What a beautiful day and a powerful place.
