San Francisco is known for its fog and this morning was no different.  I had been out shooting some night shots and wasn’t ready to head home so I just kept driving around, looking for more; more scenes, more views, more angles.  Sometimes I just can’t stop myself and this was one of those days.  As the daylight increased, so did the fog and I was getting frustrated.  After all, I was making an effort to be out, why couldn’t I see?  Patience, just a little patience.  And then, the fog started lifting.

Denver.  The mile high city.  Right smack dab in the middle of downtown is the 16th st. mall, about 30 years old.   It’s closed to motor traffic except for the constantly running shuttle busses taking you from one end to the other.  I spent a day wandering around greater Denver and found myself here or just a block away quite often.

I was tired.  I’d been wandering around downtown Phoenix for hours and ready to sit for a while.  I’d just reached the car when, of course, on the other side of the street I noticed this scene of palm trees set against the downtown architecture.  Well, one or two more photos won’t kill me.  Later in my travels I had many of my images stolen as my empty camera bag, except for memory chips, was stolen out of my car.  At least I enjoyed my time.

Keeping on the theme of art museums, and I ask myself when have I ever followed a theme in these postings?, this is Seattle’s equivalent  to the last image of Denver’s art museum.  SAM as it’s called.  Multiple stories of beautiful artwork right downtown, close to everything else downtowny.   In fact, whether it’s kosher to or not, here’s also something from inside, as well.

I’m always on the lookout for parking garages when in a city full of tall buildings.  They almost always give a pretty good above-the-ground perspective of what’s around.  On this cloudy summer day in Seattle I didn’t even have to look.  It’s where we parked our car next to the hotel we were staying at.  The view was perfect.  It was very near the sound, so one viewpoint was of the Pike St. market and water.  But, I rather liked this perspective and line angles and somewhat muted, monotone colors of the architecture as I gazed into the heart of the city.
