So nice in any situation, Austin’s Zilker park is a great place to roam around in.  When you’re with your sweetie and the suns winding its way down and the city gets hugged by the suns late rays… well, life is good.

Walking in style.  Bathed by luxurious beauty.  Yep.  I’m talking about… you guessed it.  Las Vegas.  Maybe others would call it overindulgence or something in that vein.  I just call it choice and another place to play in a world filled with places to explore, both natural and man made.  Of course, who’s to say man made is not natural.  We are, after all, part of nature.  It is true, usually I’d prefer the natural world of trees and rock and water but it’s a nice change to head to the pace and style of what other people have created for the rest of us to enjoy.  Hey, it’s Vegas.  I certainly enjoyed.

There’s something about watching young kids playing and having fun.  Maybe it reminds me of times gone by and my own youth.  Or spending those countless hours watching my own kids make their own play.  Or times spent now watching my grandkids play.  Maybe it’s the ever constant flow of time and life that touches my awareness and helps me to realize and appreciate with gratitude the beauty of life.  What a ride we have here.  It reminds me to play more and enjoy the time we do have on Earth.

A week or so ago we had some big storms blow through California.  And that makes for a great time to head out to the coast to check out the churning pacific ocean.  Unfortunately I wasn’t in time for the biggest wave action and the fog was starting to settle in again, limiting the visibility.  But, I did spy this couple, sitting on a log with their lunch, happily taking it all in, the waves pounding the shore in front of them.  What a lovely place for an afternoon meal.
