I know the space needle takes the prize as far as Seattle icons go, but the EMP building at the Seattle Center gets my vote.  It’s newer and much shorter though so just doesn’t get the press or views that the needle does.  This building has so many nooks and crannies it’s not hard to find a good angle that reframes the eye.  And speaking of eye, do you see it?

…Or the EMP museum as it’s called now.  A Frank Gehry designed building, it’s located very close to Seattle’s Space Needle in the Seattle Center.  What’s to say about it?  Certainly an amazing piece of architecture clearly identifiable as another Gehry piece of modern art.  It’s stunning, hard to miss and will strike you one way or another.  It’s not your cookie cutter square box of a building.  Many people loathe it.  The more I hung around it, walked around it, went in and tooled around the inside, the more impressed I was.  Someone with guts and vision designed this.  What do you think?
