There was a lot of snow in the Sierra this winter.  Yet, still it’s time to really start thinking about hiking the high country.  So many trips to chose from where splendor awaits.  Here, we’re starting the hike out of Rae Lakes, a beauty of a spot in the Eastern Sierra within the boundary of Kings Canyon National Park.  Coming in from the east will take you over a couple of high passes in the 11,000 foot range.  Make sure to bring plenty of water.
