When traveling along an ocean you’re never too far away from an old lighthouse.  At one point I’m sure they were quite useful and necessary.  These day, I wonder if they’re used at all.  I mean don’t all ships have gps by now?  I don’t really know, but I do know I’m glad they’re still around.  They add a certain charm and elegance to the scene.  They bring a sense of place and history.  I’m attracted to that kind of thing.  Whenever I’m on a coastal jaunt I always seek them out.  This one’s in central Oregon.
