Fairhaven is the transportation hub of Bellingham.  Trains, busses and the Alaska ferry all converge here.  One morning while visiting my dad, I got up before dawn and went down to the terminal to see what I could see.  Not much going on down there in the sleepy hours of the morning but as it grew light the activity picked up.  The train arrived from Vancouver on its way south to unknown parts.  I wandered down in front of the big engine.  It was awfully impressive from that angle.

I was happily sitting in a chair soaking in some of the suns warmth and following my daughters American bulldogs antics out of the corner of my eye.  Then, I noticed her stand up against the neighbors deck ledge and curiously keep looking as the neighbor dog lifted its leg and did his thing.  No barking or sound of any kind.  Just using what she could to act out her peeping tom tendency.  Funny what some dogs will do to get a peek at the neighbors package.

Might as well be Italy when visiting the Venetian.  Vegas is so good at creating the adult theme park, complete with all the effects and color and glamour.  The Venetian is a lot of fun, even when trying to hide from the tripod cops.

OK.  Who knows what this building is and where it is??  To me, it’s always looked like one of those world war II German helmets.  I  picture Sargent Schultz when I see it.  I know it’s not quite right, but I can’t seem to help it.  It’s actually quite an interesting and unique building.
