One year I had a goal of going somewhere, anywhere, at least once a month. A difficult task but I think I got away 10 of the 12 months. On this particular month I decided to take a day trip up north on the California coastal highway. A beautiful winding road up the coastline, highway 1 is a must if you’ve never done it. North of San Francisco is wild and scenic all the way up until it runs into highway 101 and the redwoods. But here, at Pt. Arena, is a lighthouse, one of a handful on the entire coastline. It sits atop some rugged cliffs, warning the ships of yesteryear of the presence of the hazards. A beautiful place, a beautiful drive.
