Though I personally like this photo, this is one time I can say that it pales in comparison to what was experienced this morning atop a 4,000 foot mountain plateau in northern South Africa. We were right up against the edge of the cliff, with a drop off of many hundreds of feet. From before dawn until quite a while after the sun had risen, this scene of mountains, forest, sky and sun kept blending in varying degrees of light and color. The air was cool, bordering on cold. It was quiet, still, almost eerily serene and beautiful. Just looking and writing helps me to remember the feeling. I wish you could have been there.
